Mēs rakstām jums ar lielu cerību un degsmi! Sietlas latviešu nams jau gadiem ir bijis mūsu kopienas sirds un dvēsele – vieta, kur tiekamies, svinam svētkus, kopjam tradīcijas un vienkārši esam kopā. Tomēr, lai šī vieta turpinātu zelt un plaukt, mums nepieciešama JŪSU palīdzība.
Mēs meklējam aktīvus, enerģiskus un sirsnīgus cilvēkus, kas vēlētos pievienoties mūsu komandai, lai palīdzētu uzturēt un attīstīt Sietlas latviešu namu. Šobrīd mums ir piedāvājamas vairākas pozīcijas, kas dod iespēju ne tikai strādāt, bet arī būt daļai no kaut kā lielāka – mūsu unikālās kopienas.

Dear friends of the Seattle Latvian Community Center!
The Seattle Latvian Center has been the heart and soul of our community for years – a place where we meet, celebrate holidays, nurture traditions and simply be together. However, in order for the Latvian Community Center to continue to thrive and prosper, we need YOUR help.
We are looking for active, energetic, and warm-hearted people who would like to join our team to help maintain and develop the Seattle Latvian Community Center. We currently have several positions available that give you the opportunity not only to work, but also to be a part of something bigger – our unique community.

Darba apraksti / Job descriptions:
Grounds Keeper
- Ensure the Latvian Community Center retains a pleasing appearance
- Take care of caretaker’s requests. (e.g. storm damage that needs to be cleared by morning)
- Be present at yearly Talka (grounds clean-up)
- Keep Director informed of issues or potential issues
- Call tree services as needed
- Clear storm drain grate socks
- Trim hedges as needed
- Using gas powered blower to keep walk ways and asphalt clear of debris
- Have a team that can help
Electrician
- Understand entire facility:
- Caretaker’s house
- Parking lot lighting
- Building exterior lighting
- Relay lighting system
- Stage lighting (panel on stage)
- Sound system
- Power to the 2 furnaces
- Take care of caretaker’s requests.
- Make simple repairs
- Keep Director informed of issues or potential issues
- Call service people and be point of contact
Maintenance
- Understand facility:
- Caretaker’s house
- Interior and exterior of main hall and church
- Lighting
- Where things are stored
- Two furnace rooms
- All storage (closets, under stage, etc.)
- Take care of caretaker’s requests
- Replace burned out lights (lights in main hall need the really tall ladder and should not be done alone)
- Keep Director informed of issues or potential issues
- Have a team that can help
Would not include larger efforts (e.g. contacting someone about asphalt curbs)
Community Outreach
- Generally understand how the center is used
- Take calls from caretaker and the community at large to assemble a team of people to address a request
- Establish contacts within the community that will be called for help – e.g.
- Muscle (i.e. set up and take down tables for an event)
- Painters
- Drywall repair
